On Receiving Your E-RYT 500 Certification
Imagine what you would learn from teaching yoga classes for over 20,000 hours. A very wise person once conveyed something she learned in her yoga teacher training: “The most meaningful training comes from practice.” About whom am I speaking? Our very own Regina! We are proud and overjoyed to announce that Regina has just earned the highest level of Yoga Alliance certification for yoga teacher trainers (drum roll please): E-RYT 500 certification. Regina is also now qualified to teach continuing education classes for teachers already certified (YACEP certification), Amazing!
This comes at such a great time because Regina will be able to help further the Yoga College of California with her expert training and experience.
Yoga College of California
Yoga Health Center is pleased to announce the formation of a new educational entity, YCC, The Yoga College of California.
The purpose of the college is to offer teacher trainings, continuing education, and personal development programs.
So, you are probably wondering who will lead this fantastic new venture for YHC?
Brad Nitschneider will be our Executive Director of the college and will be responsible for staffing and organizational development as well as a lead trainer.
Bob French will be the CEO of our new yoga college and remain CEO of Yoga Health Center. To support this effort, new offices for YHC/YCC have been secured across the street.
We have huge plans for YCC and already have programs in place to teach with so much more to come.
Our teacher trainings will be Yoga Alliance certified.
Initially we will focus on training students to teach the Bikram method of 26 asanas.
YCC will also offer ongoing continuing education courses (for Yoga Alliance-certified teachers) as well as other classes and workshops for personal development open to the entire community.
YCC will soon be offering Teacher Training Certifications (TTCs) in various yoga styles (as well as fitness class certifications.
Please refer to our poster in hall across from the drinking fountain for further information and details. Fit and fabulous. Become the true you. For additional questions or requests for classes please contact Brad.
YHC's New Studio Operations Manager
YHC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mila Paul to the position of YHC Studio Operations Manager, effective March 1, 2019. She will be responsible for all front desk staffing and with her team help ensure a smooth and enjoyable studio experience for our students.
Mila has been an active part of YHC for the past three years in various capacities and it is time for her to express her full talents and gifts as our studio operations manager, including her organizational skills and her lifelong passion for yoga and fitness. For Mila, a healthy total fitness lifestyle meditation and nutritional awareness. She says, "Gaining a deeper nutritional awareness and especially developing a newfound meditation practice was life-changing. Continued meditation practice is a worthy goal as it’s become a great resource in my daily life." Wise words from a wise woman!
Not only is Mila wise, she is also beautiful in her heart. For example, here is something delightful that Mila sees and feels happening often at YHC: "One of my favorite things is noticing a class let out. There’s this sweet after class warm glow along with a new found relaxed energy where students seem to be in this beautiful zone. When I finish a class, I’m often in this nice state of open heartedness, gratefulness and sometimes a lifted mood. Experiencing this transformation is constant proof of how exercising can positively impact our bodies and our minds."
As YHC's wise and beautiful operations manager, whose job it is to ensure that YHC remains the top yoga/fitness studio in all of northern California, Mila offers these four helpful hints for happy students:
Consider being flexible and open to taking a different class if you arrive late. Maybe even a class that is new to you!
Always lay your mat down with the orange dot at the upper left of your mat corner.
At the end of class, please exit the classroom within 5 minute so that it can be cleaned and updated for the next class.
Have fun! And please socialize in the lobbies so other classes are not unintentionally disrupted by our joyful noise.
Our Own Storyteller
YHC is pleased to announce that we now have a dedicated YHC Community Writer, our own meditation and Yin Yoga Teacher Brad. Storyteller Brad will be contributing content of value to the YHC newsletter, our website and blogs regularly.
If you have anything special that you want Brad to write about, please email him your ideas firstname.lastname@example.org. What we have in the works for our forthcoming newsletters are inspiring stories from students about their positive transformations, articles about yoga, meditation, fitness, asanas of the month, tips about which YHC classes would fit your fitness goals, and more detailed information about the approach of our teachers so that you can get to know us better and choose the classes that best support your growth.
